3 Die In Interstate Crashes

State police released the identity Tuesday of an Iowa man killed in a tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 40.

He is David Cook, 58, of Council Bluffs.

Officers said Cook he was driving the rig that overturned late Monday about 20 miles east of Grants., forcing the closure of westbound I-40 for about five hours.

Meanwhile, an 18-year-old Arizona girl was killed and five other people were injured Monday afternoon when the van they were in rolled over on I-40 west of Albuquerque, near the Route 66 Casino.

State police said Tabitha Ball, of Peoria, was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. Police said the van was in the left eastbound lane when one of its tires apparently blew out.

Also, the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department has released the identity of a Mexican national killed in a traffic crash in Albuquerque's south valley.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Michele Arviso Devlin said Christina Monsivais, 21 died Sunday when the car she was in was sideswiped by another car.

Arviso Devlin says the sideswiped car was then forced into oncoming traffic, where it collided with another car.
