Sky 7 Chopper Aides In Search

A massive search was underway late Monday for an Alamogordo woman who disappeared Friday.

Otero County Sheriff's deputies said Vicky Lynn told her husband she was going for a walk Friday, and never returned home.

Investigators said the woman suffers from depression, but it is not known if that's the reason for her going missing.

She was last seen wearing a blue visor, pink and white tank top, pastel shorts and white tennis shoes.

Her husband, David Lynn, is the football coach at Tularosa High School. He said his wife of 31 years has never disappeared like this before. He said the last time he saw her was at about 7:30 a.m. Friday.

Authorities said there were reports of the woman being seen near a gas station, looking disoriented.

Action 7 News reported it sent its helicopter Monday to join in the search effort. In the helicopter, Sheriff's Sgt. Leon Ledbetter said, "We hope she's not hurt, and either seeking shelter or hiding some place."

Volunteers, including former students from a sixth-grade class, also fanned out in areas where they believe she might have gone.

"It's very possible she was out on a hike and twisted her ankle," Ledbetter said. "That's what we hope, so we can find her."

Her husband and children are praying for her safe return.

"The situation is looking more desperate, but we have got enough faith," he said.

Anyone with information about Vicky Lynn is asked to call the Otero County Sheriff's Office at (505) 437-2210.
